1. Education (Individual or Group)
    1. Criteria (Primary Schools / Secondary Schools / Junior Colleges / Centralised Institutes)
      1. Eligibility period: 1st October 2017 – 31st July 2019.
      2. An individual or a group from Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges/ Centralised Institutes registered under MOE can apply for the award. If the nominee is an individual, he/she must be a Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident.
      3. Has undertaken initiatives to promote Tamil language, which are beyond the scope of the individual’s or group’s official duties.
      4. The nominee is not a recipient of a past Tamil Chudar award.
    2. Criteria (Tertiary Institutions)
      1. Eligibility period : 1st October 2017 – 31st July 2019
      2. An individual, a group, a society, an association or an interest group from Polytechnics, Universities, Private Institutions operating in Singapore. If the nominee is an individual, he/she must be a Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident.
      3. Has undertaken initiatives to promote Tamil language, which are beyond the scope of the individual’s or group’s official duties.
      4. The nominee is not a recipient of a past Tamil Chudar award.
  2. Innovation - (Individual or Group)
    Criteria
    1. Eligibility period: 1st October 2017 – 31st July 2019
    2. If the nominee is an individual, he/she must be a Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident
    3. If the nominee is a group, it should meet the following requirements:
      1. It must be a non-commercial organization registered in Singapore.
      2. At least 75% of the registered members of the group should comprise Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents
    4. Has undertaken projects on a national level in Tamil using innovative methods.
    5. The nominee is not a recipient of a past Tamil Chudar award.
  3. Arts (Group)
    Criteria
    1. Eligibility period: 1st October 2017 – 31st July 2019.
    2. The group must meet the following requirements:
      1. It must be a non-commercial organization registered in Singapore.
      2. At least 75% of the registered members of the group must comprise Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents
    3. Contributed to the Tamil arts scene in Singapore. (Eg. Music, Dance, Drama, Performance arts.
    4. Has represented Singapore in international arts events pertaining to the Tamil community/language and has won significant awards and/or received accolades/recognition.
    5. The nominee is not a recipient of a past Tamil Chudar award.
  4. Young Role Model (Individual)
    Criteria
    1. Age limit – Between 19 and 35 (Must be below 35 as of 31st July 2019 & above 19 as of 1st October 2017).
    2. The nominee must be an individual who is a Singaporean or a Singapore Permanent Resident.
    3. A role model who has displayed passion for Tamil language. One who worked with groups and organizations to promote Tamil language. One who has devoted time and effort to the advancement of the Tamil community in Singapore
    4. Holds / had held important positions in Tamil organizations in Singapore. It would be an added advantage, if the nominee had organized large scale events that promote Tamil language, either in Singapore or overseas
    5. The nominee is not a recipient of a past Tamil Chudar award.
